Eric Masterson has come back to Earth with his new enchanted mace, Thunderstrike, a gift from Thor when he reclaimed his hammer, Mjolnir. When he goes to investigate a crime, Eric is soundly beaten by a vigilante called Bloodaxe, wielding the Executioner's Axe. Realizing Thunderstrike is not as powerful as Mjolnir, Eric creates a new identity to protect Thor's reputation.
